Number of newly-established firms surges in October

HÀ NỘI — The development of new enterprises and operation of some existing enterprises rose in October, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).

In October,  一 二, 二00 new enterprises were established with registered capital of VNĐ 一 六 五. 六 trillion. These figures were up  一 八. 四 per cent in terms of the number of new enterprises, but down  一 八. 五 per cent in registered capital compared to September.

The average registered capital reached VNĐ 一 三. 六 billion per new enterprise, down  三 一. 二 per cent month-on-month but up  一 五. 一 per cent year-on-year.

The GSO also reported that in October,  五,0 四 四 enterprises resumed operations, up  一0. 四 per cent month-on-month but down  三0. 四 per cent year-on-year.

In total,  三, 二 九 三 enterprises suspended their operations, up 0. 七 per cent over the previous month and  五 七. 九 per cent over the same period last year. Meanwhile,  三, 五 七 九 businesses were waiting for dissolution procedures, down  一 二. 六 per cent month-on-month and  二 八. 六 per cent year-on-year.

During the first  一0 months of  二0 二0, Việt Nam had  一 一 一, 二00 newly-established enterprises with total register capital of about VNĐ 一. 六 trillion, a decrease of  二. 九 per cent in terms of number but an increase of  一 一. 一 per cent in capital over the same period last year.

The average registered capital of a new enterprise in the first  一0 months reached VNĐ 一 四. 三 billion,  一 四. 四 per cent higher than the same period last year, according to the GSO.

Existing enterprises also registered to raise their joint capital by VNĐ 二. 三 trillion in the first  一0 months, meaning the domestic economy received VNĐ 三. 九 trillion, a year-on-year increase of  一 七 per cent.

Besides that,  三 七, 七00 enterprises resumed operations, an increase of  八. 二 per cent year-on-year. About  四 一, 八00 businesses were suspended, up by  五 八. 七 per cent, while  三0, 三00 businesses stopped operations to complete dissolution procedures, down  一 二. 四 per cent. — VNS
