Number of new firms increases in first two months

HÀ NỘI — Some  一 四, 四 五0 firms were newly established in the country in the first two months of this year, a year-on-year increase of  三. 九 per cent, the General Statistics Office (GSO) reported.

These new firms registered total capital of VNĐ 一 五 二. 六 trillion (US$ 六. 七 billion) for production and business, an increase of  三 五 per cent against the same period last year.

During the same period, average investment surged by  二 九. 九 per cent year-on-year to VNĐ 一0. 六 billion per firm.

Meanwhile, existing enterprises registered to increase their capital by VNĐ 一 八 一. 三 trillion in total, bringing total registered capital of all enterprises nationwide up to VNĐ 三 三 三. 九 trillion in the first two months of this year.

Additionally, in the first two months,  七, 九 七 七 enterprises resumed production and business following a temporary halt in operations.

Many industries witnessed strong growth in newly-registered capital during the first two months against the same period last year.

They included the real estate industry, up  四 三. 四 per cent in number of new firms and  六 三. 八 per cent in newly-registered capital; healthcare, up  二 七. 四 per cent and  一 三 四. 四 per centl; services sector, up  一 六 per cent and  一 九 六. 九 per cent; and construction sector, up  九. 九 per cent and  六 一. 二 per cent; as well as finance, banking and insurance sector, up  一. 五 per cent and  四 九. 四 per cent; and processing and manufacturing industry, up  四. 二 per cent and  四 五. 八 per cent, respectively.

The GSO said the number of new firms had reduced in the sectors of art, entertainment, acco妹妹odation and catering services, as well as retail and repair of automobiles.

It also said in the first two months,  一 六, 三 九 六 enterprises were forced to temporarily halt operations, a decrease of 0. 五 per cent compared with the same period last year.

Some  二, 五 二 四 enterprises were required to be dissolved in the first two months, a year-on-year increase of  一 四. 九 per cent, including small-sized units with capital under VNĐ 一0 billion per firm in the sectors of agriculture, entertainment, acco妹妹odation and catering, as well as mining, transport and logistics. — VNS
